Top Selling NFL Jerseys 2006
- Rookie Scores Big
NFL jerseys are more popular than ever, with big name
superstars in the forefront of NFL jersey sales. But that’s all
about to change!
On this year’s list, a rookie’s jersey has made it into the
Top-Ten list. In fact, it has made it all the way to the #1
spot for football jersey sales -- with 19% of sales among the
Top Ten selling NFL jerseys. No other rookie has made it onto
this year’s list.
This is the first time that a rookie has made it to this
prestigious spot -- #1. Can you guess what NFL rookie we’re
talking about?
Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s No. 7
jersey has moved up from the #3 position to #1 - a first for
rookie NFL players.
Even though Roethlisberger was not the Steelers’ pick
for the starting quarterback position this season, he was
elevated to starter in the 3rd week of the season when Tommy
Maddox was injured with a sprained elbow.
Since Roethlisberger became the starting quarterback,
he has helped his NFL club to a 14-game winning streak, the AFC
North title, and a real run at the Super Bowl title.
We can surely expect more from this outstanding rookie
quarterback in coming seasons. Expect to see his NFL jersey in
the Top Ten list for next season as well.
Note: The Top 10 Selling NFL jerseys list is prepared by
Reebok, the NFL’s official licensee for football jerseys and
other NFL team wear.
