Jersey Guide – Top 10 Best-Selling NBA Jerseys
Basketball
jersey sales for the NBA’s superstars can be a roller coaster
ride -- riding high one moment and gone the next.
A lot depends on the publicity surrounding the NBA player
and whether that PR is good or bad.
This
is exactly what happened to Kobe Bryant, or more specifically,
his No. 8 Lakers basketball jersey. Bryant’s jersey was one of the hottest selling NBA jerseys
in the world. But
last month, his jersey didn’t even land in the top 50.
It had dropped to the #72 position.
For
the year, Kobe’s basketball
jersey landed in the top 10.
But by the last week of the year, the jerseys slide
continued all the way down to #90. The NBA jersey market can be very fickle.
The
marketability of Bryant’s NBA jersey has been hurt by the
significant amount of bad publicity he received over the past
months. His alleged
rape case, a feud with Shaquille O’Neal and Karl Malone, and
prima donna attitude cost him a small fortune in NBA jersey
sales.
On
the flip side, Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James’ basketball
jerseys are hitting on all cylinders. These two have the hottest selling jerseys for the month of
December.
The
