basketball jersey. More
specifically, his powder blue Denver Nuggets “swingman”
jersey. It ranked as the #1 best selling sports jersey in 2004.
The
competition was stiff, but Anthony’s “swingman” jersey
beat out the likes of Lebron James and Michael Vicks favorite
jerseys. Anthony’s
jersey sold 230,691 units last year.
These sales beat out Atlanta Falcons Michael Vicks’
alternate black jersey by slightly more than 4,200 shirts.
The
“swingman” style jersey is very popular with the basketball
fans. This is the
jersey that NBA players wear over their uniforms during
warm-ups. Anthony’s
swingman basketball jersey
sold for about $60 – quite a bargain compared to other sports
jerseys.
The
sales picture is a little different when you look at all the
different styles of a player’s jersey being marketed.
LeBron James white Cleveland Cavaliers jersey was third
in the final tally. However,
James had eight different jersey styles in the top 100 last year
– home jerseys, road jerseys, throwback jerseys, and swingman
jerseys.
These
eight jerseys were responsible for an amazing 1.17 million
jerseys sold. Anthony
had seven different basketball jerseys in the top 100 with sales
totaling 734,000.
These
figures are staggering considering it’s only one NBA player!
